Brian Hanrahan lost his fight with cancer today.

For anyone of our age he will be remembered for his coverage of the Falklands War:-

And particularly:-

"I'm not allowed to say how many planes joined the raid, but I counted them all out and I counted them all back"

    Sad to hear this, he's a face and voice I remember from many historic news reports. He was on Celebrity Eggheads last week as part of a BBC News team, too.

    Of all the many BBC reporters his names sticks in my mind the most, very supprising that after being in countless war zones, with bullets whistling passed his ears, that it was cancer that got him.
