Pete Postelthwaite RIP

edited January 2011 in Chit chat
Sad news, and he was only 64.

Only recently notice he was in Jurrasic Park 2 ( was on the telly the other day )

He'll always be that bloke from Sharpe to me though... and Alien 3... and Romeo + Juliet...

I didn't know who he was by name when I clicked on this thread, but it was obvious to me as soon as I googled him. Wow, he's been in a lot.

Haven't seen all that many of his films but I liked him in Jurassic Park & Alien 3.

detto - never knew his name (like many other actors for me are faces in first place and thus characters, not CHR$ data ;)

but I liked this one - especially in one of his last movies - The Town (d. by Ben Affleck) - that was one of the best acting ever, IMHO, kind of performance I'm always grateful for

    r.i.p.

He lived 15 miles north of me in Church Stretton. This is some sad news indeed. R.I.P. Pete.

Was very sad to read this on the BBC news site this morning.

In the last week I've watched both Inception and Clash of the Titans. Pete Postlethwaite had a way of just showing up in many of my favourite films over the years and I will miss him.

he was in my fav film of all time (well so far) the usual suspects..

but yer his face was WELL known as a character actor.. I remember he was on TFI friday years ago.. only then did I know his name

Steven Speilberg called him probably the best actor in the world

but from what was written about him today elsewhere, he did come across as a decent bloke when people approached him

My wife met him once at a premiere of Romeo and Juliet and he was a really nice bloke (she says).

Great actor and really sad that he passed away so young. I will always remember him for his great performances in In The Name of the Father, Brassed Off, The Usual Suspects, and Romeo + Juliet.
