Benny Hill's Madcap Chase

Gave this a go as it appeared in the YS Daily Fix and I hadn't played it before..

Is it just me or is level 1 quite tricky? Feels as if you have to be completely flawless, the time seems a bit unforgiving if you muck up slightly.. The Crash review suggests the first couple of levels are meant to be easy.
