Not adding to the pot is leeching: there's an awful lot of public infrastructure that exists to allow the people at the top live safe, comfortable lives - for example, the military to stop foreign invaders from taking it off them, roads for them to drive their Bentley Continentals on, police to discourage scumbags from invading their homes, subsidised public transport so the poor aren't all on bicycles and getting in the way of their Bentley, fire service in case their 3 million pound house catches fire etc. Using that infrastructure without paying for it is actually leeching.

Feel free to cite some evidence of rich people who contribute nothing....if they drive a Bentley for example....first they keep the guys who built the thing in employment...they pay road tax on the car, they paid sales tax on the car, they pay tax on the gas, they pay tax on the wages of the guy driving it, they pay tax on the tires they buy for it.....etc etc etc....
Pretty sure as another example the 'Prince's Trust' contributes to the good of all more than the entire membership of WOS combined.

We enjoyed sharing a unique historical occasion with our children that they won't see again until they are my age at least (I was their age when Wills' dad married).

Buy a 100,000 boat, you pay 17,500 in sales tax at 17.5%...did you pay that much in income tax last year?

Your out of the country and not paying National Insurance but if you come back you can get it. If you stay in the US you expect a pension from here. And VAT isnt 17.5% now.

Ah but that is where you are wrong...I DO pay national insurance under the VOLUNTARY plan...so I am contributing to the country and have not lived there for 14yrs!
