ZX Spectrum in Recording Studio = JM Jarre ;)
Kinda effect of limitless boredom. ;)
I realize that nobody listen to electronic music but maybe somebody might be interested in this from its technical side.

The only instrument/sound-source and the only sequencer: ZX Spectrum 48K with AY-interface.
Recording-studio effect used: multitrack recording / filters / phasers / choruses / flangers / delays / echoes / reverbs / equalizers / compressors / limiters.

(and also the sort of thing I always enjoy listening to.)
I'd say more like Brian Transeau?, as it stays in mood and doesn't force a melody. Kinda organic.
You might really like This Binary Universe album by Brian Transeau. Just search youtube for BT Binary Universe for the videos of the album.

Same here, mostly stuff on Warp Records :)
Well, as for the full album, it would take a lot of time. ;) At the moment I made only this one song, as an experiment if it's possible at all. :)
But - who knows. ;) Maybe I'll be bored again. ;)
Greetzzzzz,

They were synchronized to the first click (being a closed hihat audible on bas.mp3 base sequence) that have been removed finally, when the synchronizing of all traxx was finished and the click was redundant.

And as I said, the only used instrument was ZX Spectrum computer.
Do you have a version of the completed track but without the effects?
I know you usually release original stuff only, but please consider bringing Vangelis, Jarre and Daft Punk (thinking Tron here) to the Speccy. I've heard what's available in the AY project and nothing is as good as this.
the guy who did it IRC did the c64 for netherworld by hewson also which used digi's :)
VERY nice indeed!!
(Leaves the party)
And add me to the list of people who listen to electronic music and almost nothing else.
me wants more!
I'm glad that electronica isn't dead yet (as long as the listeners live ;) ).
Well, actually C-Jeff already asked me about making full material in this style, entirely on ZX Spectrum as the only instrument and sequencer, however with all the studio-effects added. So maybe I will kick my own arse and make some longer "album".
Actually I was (I were??) thinking about making a 45-minutes material in this style and publish it in a regular publishing company (of course a small one, related only with electronic music), and the guy even liked the song, but I insisted to be clearly written that all it is ZX Spectrum - and he said it's too dangerous experiment because people might not buy it.
I don't know if he's right - "retro" is kinda fashionable nowadays, but well - his call.
I have one of Jean-Michel Jarre's old keyboards under my bed. It's a Roland S-10 sampler that I bought years ago. Still works, and I've got (somewhere!) a load of this little QDs with samples on them, mostly individual drums as I recall. I got one of his JX3Ps at the same time but sold it later... probably should have held onto it, in retrospect!
Bad Horsey: so now You can connect it to Spectrum, if the synth has MIDI (I suspect it has?). You'd have to get a SIF interface to this purpose. However still not too many programs for it (SADLY).
I bought one some time ago but don't use it at the moment. No software (which suxx).
this time I made an electronic music song with...
BEEPER. :) Spectrum 48K without any sound-units. ;)

I thought it's impossible but a Spectrum programmer Tygrys ( http://pouet.net/prod.php?which=57700 ) was annoyingly saying that I have no skills to do that (to make me angry ;) ).
So I made it to make him shut up. ;) ;)
But somehow he was right: it was the hardest job I have ever encountered. :) Indeed.
Again - the heavy post-production has been used. Recording-studio effect: track-by-track recording / filters / phasers / choruses / flangers / delays / echoes / reverbs / equalizers / compressors / limiters.
PS: As usual here are original BEEPER sources - http://www.sendspace.com/file/m1z5ku - that's exactly what the song has been made of.

Or what to think about Jarre playing on my ZX Spectrum:

Btw, is it enough to copy the prepared movie into divIDE and play, or is it any sector-by-sector reading?
This needs to be the first file on the (empty) card.
Amongst that you'll need the video player.
Both converter and player are found here: http://divideo.zxdemo.org/.
Again Gasman, you did a nice job! ;)
P.s. I'll upload a video from that fair from 15 october in an hour..

Noone would have guessed that our Sinclairs were so musically! ;)
What exactly Spectrum does there?
PS: I will test the video converter and player on a new CF card then. Thx.
Impressive, most impressive
