    has anyone read The Victorian Internet?

    It's a good book, quite short, easy read, about the birth and rapid spread of morse/cable, up to telephones being installed.

    The company i work for (C&W) was the first company to install telegraph wires from cornwall all the way round the globe, and this was in the 1890's.
