Musical credits?

edited June 2011 in Infoseek database
I recently picked up a collection of Atari ST music tunes with the thought of using them for my YouTube channel and the one thing that struck me more than anything was that some of the tunes from certain Atari ST games were the exact same as the ZX Spectrum version, the same arrangement, the same notes, in some it was a higher pitch (like the Amstrad CPC) but otherwise it's the exact same.

So my question is would it therefore be relevant to credit the same person for the Atari ST version for the ZX Spectrum version provided it was the exact same version, two examples are OutRun by Jas C. Brooke with is completely identical and Beyond the Ice Palce by David Whittaker, higher pitch but it's the same tune.

ST and Speccy aren't so different ? if you use chip music.. YM / AY aren't so different.

remember people like follin used to do all 3 versions on a tantung, and just modify things slightly. and just have a different music driver for each machine.. but the data the same.

it might be to do with frequencies clashing.. you can't EQ really with internal sounds, but things like volume you can, so upping the octave by 1 is a way to get around it..

    just a thought.

Names only get added to the credits for people who actually delivered "bytes" to a program. So, if the named gentlemen worked on the Spectrum version, then they get listed.
