10 Best Xbox 360 Games

Are these the ten best Xbox 360 games?

www.metro.co.uk/tech/games/871994-the-10-best-xbox-360-games-ever-made-from-deadly-premonition-to-mass-effect-2

How should I know, I don't even own an Xbox!

Um no oblivion? or red dead redemption?

None of those 10 would be on my list.

Portal 2, Batman and Mass Effect 2 are all pretty awesome (got 'em all on PS3 and PC so assume they're going to be similar on 360) and all of them would be in my top ten faves of this gen.

I'll always have a soft spot for PGR 3, and I agree that Oblivion should be in there. Thankfully the (good, but) overrated GTA IV isn't in there.

First of all, I'd like to say that that web page sucks! It was so full of adverts that it slowed my PC down to a crawl :(

Also, it was nice to see Bayonetta get a mention. I loved that game. I probably wouldn't put it that high though. As for the rest of the list, they are all over rated if you ask me (apart from Batman. That's pretty good!)

I haven't played any of those top 10 games and none really appeal to me. I have the first Gears Of War which I do not like at all. Oblivion, Orange Box, and Ridge Racer 6 are all very good and I really enjoyed Kameo. I really like the look of Fable 2 but have struggled to find time to get into it properly.

Kameo is a good choice. It's a good old-school RARE style romp. Again, it's a game I never completed, but I still re-visit it once in a while. I'm right near the end of the game anyway.

It's a real shame that RARE are only making games for that Kinect cobblers as we'll probably never see a game like this (or another Banjo-Kazooie game) again :(

The site may be crap but the content's pretty good.

Bayonetta? And no Oblivion? They've gotta be kidding, surely...

You need to use Firefox with NoScript. It blocked no less than 48 scripts for me on that page.

As for the games, the main top ten is a bit of a yawn, but the XBLA list has a couple of genuine gems in the shape of Geometry Wars and Braid.

    In a word?

    No.

any of the games below would comfortably get in a top 10 ahead of the stuff they have....personal preference of course

    Oblivion
    Fallout 3
Halo 3 (way better than the Bungie cash in that was Reach)
    MW2
    Borderlands
    either Left 4 Dead game
Civilisation (ok so it's not as deep as the PC but lots of fun)
LA Noire (ok so this one maybe just for the atomsphere and the novelty)
    either Dead Space game

    No.

In my defence I did say it was personal preference

First of all I'd like to know where Bioshock, Singularity, and Dead Space are on that list? They'd all be in the top five if it was up to me. I've not played all on the list, but my main problem with the games as listed is that a lot of people, myself included, think that Mass Effect 1 is better than 2, although 2 is still a very good game.

I wouldn't put CoD in any top ten, but I know I'm in the minority here if the sales figures are taken into account (although strangely there is a very large faction of the 360 boards who share my dislike of the CoD games, despite their stratospheric sales).

On the plus side, at least the list didn't contain Grand Theft Auto IV, the most over-rated game since Sabre Wulf (spit spit, etc).

Hurray, I'm not alone!!! If you listen to most 360 owners then you'd think that Gears of War is THE best third person shooter, and in fact that it singlehandedly invented the third person shooter genre, when (to me) it's boring and is easily beaten by many other TPSs, not only in this generation, but back on the XBox 1/PS2/N64 etc.

I've not played GOW2 yet, so I can't comment on it, but I've completed GOW1, and found it to be more of a chore than a pleasure.

Yep, and I tried it with Opera too and that blocked everything. Never use IE for anything except downloading a different browser.

I liked Singularity but wouldn't put in a top ten! Dead Space I would however.

AsI haven't actually played 10 360 games yet I don't feel qualified to really pass comment further!

I don't agree with most of that list. I found Mass Effect 2 to be boring at a mate's, haven't played much of Deadly Premonition to decide about that yet, but Halo Reach? I don't think so. I do like it, but it wouldn't be in my top ten. Borderlands was so much better.

    Arkham Asylum would though :D

And so would Dead Space. 2 not so much, but definitely 1. When I get round to getting Portal 2 that'll probably go in there aswell.

Bayonetta? Yeah right. Played the demo and thought it was ****.

Gears 2? Nah. Again a good game, but nothing the fanboys make it out to be. They just make out with it ;)

--edit I'd have put Splinter Cell: Conviction in the main list aswell instead of in the best of the rest

I've played the demos of most of the Arcade ones and thought they were naff.

Out of the Arcade games I've got I'd have to say Magic 2012 and Ilomilo are probably the only ones that'd get into a top list.

I'd put CoD in a Top Ten: Generic Bland Shooters list ;)

Oh, and I use Firefox with Flashblock and AdBlock Plus so I didn't have a problem at all with the page ;)
Oh, no. Every time you turn up something monumental and terrible happens.
I don’t think I have the stomach for it.

See, for me the game I've played the most and got the most out of on 360 is the Rock Band series as a whole... I'd rather that was an entry in the top 10 than something like Mass Effect 2.

Damn I can't stand those guitar hero/rock band games...Glorified Simon.

Yeah, and platform games today are glorified Manic Miner. What's your point? ;)

A 10th the price of today's new releases, but with 10 times more originality ;)

Don't remember the last time I paid 50 quid for a game as I'm not a sucker for the new Activision pricing regime for their recycled engines with slightly new assets. ;-)

Oh, and Bill Hogue would probably disagree.
