Sailing - i don't remember seeing much sailing simulators around, probably because its boring:smile:
Yes, sailing is so boring no one in their right minds would ever spend an awful lot of money just to buy a boat and sail around with it
On the other hand, as far as simulators go, there are the Advanced Lawnmower Simulators - yes I know they were a joke, but hey, they're in the archive right?

Agree. Graphically awesome. I don't think there's any other similar game...

And what about Stonkers? (Not joking!!!) Is there any other real-time strategy game for the Spectrum?

Quite a few, actually. The Bulge, Overlords and Nether Earth are a few of my favourites. The latter actually bears a passing resemblance to the modern RTS genre.

Rapscallion is pretty unique, I've not played anything like it since.

    So is Lazy Jones.

How's about Nebulus, I've not encountered another tower scaling game on the Speccy, or at least not one where the towers scale and rotate rather than just scrolling straight up?

Cosmic Wartoad, that game is definitely one unto itself :D

Maybe Explorer? It's a load of crap, but it's defo one of a kind.

Durell were the software house more obsessed with originality than anyone. Too obsessed at times when you look at what they released. Most of their games, like Turbo Esprit, Thanatos and Sigma 7 are pretty unique if not always massively playable (I liked Thanatos the most). There was also Room Ten by Pete Cooke; better than anything Dudley Moore did too.

great game, the scrolling bit might be unique. but there are games that employ the same basic concept - Atom Ant, Captin Planit, even Rainbow Islands(?)

seem to be typing a lot of question marks in brackets lately, dunno where that's come from

good job I don't do that with all my doubles... they'd rename the shop " john menzies " etc

all the charity shops are gone around here now. rents / rates are too high

I'll sell it in the end ... as it's flippy format (cpc + speccy)
