Well it is statistcal spin isn't it, as this is Trip Advisor search data for places that wern't much sought after last year and are this year. There are always reasons...
Ilford... People searching for somewhere cheap to stay for the Olympics or whilst helping to prepare for Olympics
Salford - where the is BBC moving to
Yalta - going to be swarming with football fans next summer
etc
