There are several different ways of doing this and it has been discussed many times here in WoS.
One way is to actually hook a tape recorder to your computer, have an emulator load a game and record it to tape as you're loading the game, this can be a bit hit-and-miss depending on the tape recorder, recording volume and other factors. But there are also specialised software utilities located here in WoS.
If you eventually decide to try this out, then don't hesitate to either search for older threads on this subject OR just create a new thread asking for assistance.

does this mean that i would be able to put games like crimbo and gloop troop on to tape?
that would be awesome as i much prefer playing on the speccy itself.

If you can't find anyone selling these games, then you can get them here in WoS and convert them to tape yourself.
