Labyrinthion (use axe?)

edited December 2011 in Games
So, I'm mapping this game called Labyrinthion and I'm slightly stuck.

I'm in the third section of the maze (the "safari" section) and finally found the axe but as soon as I exchange it for the feather the mist reappears so I can't get back (unless I drop the axe and re-pickup the feather).

What's the trick here? (seeing as the "safari" section is split in twain one has to re-traverse the second section to get to the fourth section ... but I can't do this because of the aforementioned issue)

Haven't you thought about including the snapshot? Are we going to play it from the start to help you? :)

By te way, you found quite an obsure but interesting game. I haven't heard about it but it seems to be an early work of Deakin and Horn, who made later a lot of much more famous and infamous ;) games like Renegade 3.

I am actually asking those who have previously played the game, didn't think including a snap would help anyone who hasn't played the game (will try and UL a snap later as the game is on a 'puter at home) and it wouldn't actually help anyone who has never played it because I have skipped a few (unrelated to this issue but needed to be known by those who play it) things known only to those who have played it.

It's a terrible game really ... collision detection is a bit unforgiving esp. when it comes to doors that are squeezed up in the corners and such ..

BUT at the same time I found an accidental "cheat" based on the collision detection (sent to Tipshop)

I tried it and it's in fact crap. A poor attempt of Atic Atac clone.

But as all good games already have maps and solutions, mappers, rzxers and walkthrough creators are doomed to such games today :)
  • That looks A LOT like Wizard's Lair!
