I thought about starting a thread a couple of weeks ago, but as a developer it seemed wrong (I also remembered the problems the poll last year caused!).

As my main interest in the speccy is the new software I'm more interested in starting a discussion of the years releases.

For starters I want to doff my cap to all speccy developers, I've enjoyed all releases this year (CGC included!). There's a few I wanted to mention, not necessarily because they are the best* but because they stood out for one reason or another.

Buzzsaw+. Obvious one to mention. Would make Amiga owners jealous.

Dingo. Captured the elusive & ill defined spirit of the spectrum, for me at least.

    Alter Ego. Polished.

    Utter Tripe. Inventive.

*that's obviously one of the ones below :p

Whoever does create the poll, please include two games which don't yet have infoseek entries: the Pac-Man emulator and the iSpectaculator Gloop Troops exclusive.

I would suggest limiting the number of votes you can cast. Up to ten maximum votes, perhaps? Seeing as there are ~90 games, that would seem like a fair number.

There is a maximum of 30 options than can be included in the poll, thats the biggest and only issue of it, I would say :)

By the way, where can I get that Gloop Troops special edition? IS it different than the normal one released in 2010?

Martijn changed it to 100 options after last year's poll.

You need an iDevice (Touch, Phone or Pad) in order to play the new game. Here's the "making of" the game.

Then, if it can only be played in iDevices, is it a proper Spectrum game? (I assume that it cant be played in normal ZX Spectrum emulators??)

And btw, very nice that now there are 100 options in the polls

It is a proper Speccy game which is at the moment only playable (that is, bundled with) with an iDevice Spectaculator emulator. I've spoken with one of the developers and he said they may make a cassette release for charity in the future.

I would, but I'm on my 'phone, and it would take too long to copy and paste ~90 game titles.
