I say these things to myself every year :D
I will be releasing some software for the Speccy's thirtieth anniversary.
It's 23rd of April, not so far away. I can't slack too much :)
The final part of the doom trilogy?
Perhaps that's asking a bit too much!
Rather not this time :) Apart from the existing engine I have nothing done with it yet.
I have some other begun projects however. I'll try to complete one of them.
Started as I mean to go on this morning with Cybernoid 2. Pretty but merciless.
Related resolution: get a Spectranet, should they become generally available...
I too am writing something to celebrate the last 30 years. It's about 60% done now, but I don't want to spoil the surprise - so you'll have to wait a bit longer
The resolution for me this year will be to actually finish one of my projects.
Har har har!
I had to read it twice (if not thrice) to "get it" ... I so slow, long time!
New Year hangover strong still ? ;)
Final part of the KEYWORD trilogy?
I'm moving to a new apartment and slowly paying off old debt, so it's an on-going resolution.
I also started going to the gym two months ago and I'm spending less and less time in front of a computer, and more time doing something for my health.
:-)
My resolution is too make a game too as i have been truly inspired by what people have done with the speccy in 2011,so i have the same path to walk as you Rebel learning code, assembly, etc and i have starting using AGD a week ago.
I already have a head full of ideas for games but are focusing on just two main themes at the moment but i fear with my limited knowledge it might be a case of `Atari 2600 syndrome` where you see what you can fudge together then make a game out of it loool.
Who knows maybe in 2013 we may both have a nomination in the best game of 2012 poll. :)
Paddy
Hopefully get something rubbish but working, and not just a crummy text adventure using INPUT I$ etc ;)
Knowing me though, I'll have exactly the same resolutions in 2013!
Also write a game that has designed levels instead of just doing the same thing over and over again but faster.
And to actually settle on a colour graphics engine for my next game instead of re-writing loads of different ones.

It will almost certainly be spectranet related. There's the slim chance that I might make another attempt at ZXGopher this year. I think the chances of my hard disk driver being "finished" are nil unless I get help, but I should have the disk formatter utility finished in the not too distant future.
<uncrosses fingers>
Probably based on Malcolm Gladwell's stuff. Yes, 10,000 hours to achieve reputable competence in anything, but less than that to achieve hacky, workmanlike competence, which is all most of us can hope for :)
I prefer to plan things over about three years (specifically, 101 Things 1001 Days - google it if you're interested) and among my 101 Things for the next 1001 Days is to write a game in Basic. Machine code will be in the 1001 Days *following* this one :D
Get fit and stop being a fatso
decorate the living room
Not that I do new years resolutions but that is something I would like to do.
Demoversions of the games are now being tested!
Me too..! Have had my machines stored away since I moved flats so am hoping to get 'em out more (fnar)
Am going to try to finish writing a game too. It's about 60% complete so far but it's taken me about 6 months. Most of that time has been spent learning Z80 so the code is probably laughably bad. Still, it seems to be working!
Was it this?: http://norvig.com/21-days.html ("Teach Yourself Programming in Ten Years"). A great read.
