The Ultimate Guide to Games For The ZX Spectrum (Version 2)

edited February 2012 in Announcements
A chap called A.J.Green who I play in the Retroleague with has recently released version 2 of his E-Book, The Ultimate Guide To Games For The ZX Spectrum.. I told him I'd give people a heads-up about it on here...

In his own words.... Version 2 of the Guide is now available on eBay. The Guide now covers more games, and has a full colour screenshot for every game reviewed. It is a complete guide to every game commercially released for the Speccy, and is avalable as an eBook on CD. Running to over 2,000 pages, the guide features nearly 11,000 games, and also comes with a facts and stats section, and an Excel spreadsheet which summarises all the games and their original magazine ratings. The Guide is also come down in price, and is now available for only ?5 + 50p p+p.

Here's the link to Ebay...

it really nicely presented, the only thing that's a bit off is a title of a game on one page then the rest of the stuff on another, as if slightly misaligned?

or is that just the sample?

Got mine today , and although i do like it and would recommend it , it could be better presented . Its just hard work to read through , i stopped at page 13 and im usually very patient , i don't know if its because im using the adobe reader or its deliberatly chopped in the middle of the review and screenshot ?

Does look good, wish i could buy a book of it though as i'm not keen personally on just downloads.

Great idea to have all these screenshots and mini reviews, think the text saying also available on a compilation etc could be cut out as thats quite a bit of space for each game.

But a book of this would be great (and to cut down the space get rid of some of the 'filler' type games).

But impressive stuff though, must have taken the guy ages.

Just got mine, and yeah..the text is sometimes a bit difficult to read and split over pages.....so could have been a bit better presented...

But to give A.J. credit, it must have taken ages, so just getting it in a readable form was probably the goal...and I love the fact I can look through it, find interesting screens and then read his mini-review to see if it's worth loading up the game! A great way of finding hidden gems....

So it comes recommended...he deserves a fiver just for the effort of putting it all together! :D

Yeah thats what i like the sound of, just think a huge chunk could be deleted from it but fair play to including practically all of the archive it seems !

Plus, at over 2000 pages, imagine how many there would be if everything was laid out so all the info about games was on the same page....
