    I would've thought somewhere like PSXNetwork UK would probably suit you best.

    I don't know about the PSX, but Gamefaqs.com has forums for every console (and ever single console game! Seriously) and has some great people on the boards I visit (PC, XBox 1, XBox 360, N64, PS2, and Gamecube). It also has user reviews, plus a link to professional reviews (via a link to gamerankings.com 's page for each game)and FAQs (when they exist) for every game.

    Unfortunately, they also have more than their fair share of trolls, and the worst mods ever, but even with that, it's still a great site.
