    some work places

I mean, imagine if you work in the like an ASDA storage depot, sorry boss, fog says the freezer has to be above 16 degrees, or we are going home.

All the ice cream would melt, and there would be no jelly and ice cream at your next party.

When Lord Tyrone-bltyhe drafted the factories, shop and railway premises act he wasn't messing about you know!

Or if you work in a garden centre, sue John Kettley because the fish pond has ice on it!

the lower limit has GOT to be lower than 16....I think that's just what they limit air con too
  • I thought there was an upper limit rather than a lower limit for offices to close. One office I used to work in was like a greenhouse in summer.

I got mild frostbite once playing football in Ilkley (near the moor and I wasn't wearing a hat). It was most unpleasant when my hands started thawing out, like they were in a vice.

    http://www.hse.gov.uk/contact/faqs/temperature.htm

"What is the maximum/minimum temperature in the workplace?

The law does not state a minimum temperature, but the temperature in workrooms should normally be at least:

    16?C, or
13?C if much of the work is physical."

It's almost T-Shirt weather here, been nice for about 2 weeks it's really weird.

Every winter here has usually been as rough or rougher than the ones back in England, but it's really warm here now.

We've been experiencing Florida Style winter, I shouldn't complain really, but of course the couple of weeks of freakish warm weather could soon drag 2 months of Baltic insanity behind them?

So I'm not going to glaot incase I get snowed in in the next couple of weeks.

Bet you've experienced some pretty tough weather in geordieland though right? The harshest winter I can remember was when I was at uni in Sunderland. Wind was savage b2b freezing rain. Don't even think it snowed but still the worst in memory for me lol

Rain's not rain if it doesn't numb your face after being exposed to it for 3 seconds :D

We had some snow this morning, but it's now turned to sleet...and judging from how bloomin' freezing it is, I'm guessing it'll be even slippier out there later....

winds picked up here on the east coast and i see a fewtiny tiny snowflakes blowing about. how come if its coming from the east, the east coast is the last people to see it???

There's constantly a burst water pipe down the road from me that leads down a hill into the centre of the village. The council keeps coming and 'fixing' it only for it to go again a few days later.

It's gonna be slippy later and with the average age round here being kinda high I'm expecting a load of old people in a pile in the square tomorrow :p

unlikely, not keen on taking a litre bike out in snow, and my wife tends to get the screaming dibdabs if I attempt to take hers,

also the flakes stick to the lens and knacker the shot

I can see it now, the supermarkets down south will be under siege from people buying 1000 pints of milk and 500 loafs thinking they'll be snowed in for a month!
I can't understand why the media say it's a 'big freeze' just because it snows, its perfectly normal for it to snow at this time of the year!
