well I guess once you figure out how you feel about it....

"Ahhh man that sucks, hope you find something better soon"

    or

"Well, probably for the best - means you can focus on doing <that thing you always wanted to do>"

Well, I been on long term sick since last may... so my pennies were close to running out. This will help pay off all the debts with oodles to spare.

I should be ok as long as I resist the urge to blow it all on ebay! :D

No but seriously as long as it was a decent golden handshake hopefully it's enough to tide you over, I know how much it sucks to be told "Oh you were pretty good at the job we just don't need you right now", or "Sorry we can't afford to keep you and the 2 new guys you've just trained up".

Firebomb their letterbox that's what I say, employers are basts!!! :D

Sorry to hear about that. Happened a couple of times to myself, not nice. You'll bounce back though, I'm sure, from this enforced holiday.
  • Sorry to hear that.
Not working sucks but at least you don't have to get up and go to work!
If that makes sense, it does to me and that's all that matters!

That sucks Becky. I really do hope things work out for you on the job front. It's a total rat race nowadays to find a job. So I wish you luck in finding something, as do many of us on these 'ere forums.

Sorry to hear that. And yup, the NHS sucks right now. They are putting mine through quick as i would have been there 10 years this April. ho hum.

STILL... it could be worse :)

And thanks for the kind words all. :)

    That's a bit crap :(

But that means you can spend more time on here so yay! :D
Oh, no. Every time you turn up something monumental and terrible happens.
I don’t think I have the stomach for it.

At least you are lucky that Britain has no enormous unemployment rate, has a decent doll and you also have no E.U forcing you to close companies and get poor just to punish you and cover its mess.

In the European South the things are worst. We are rats in an ongoing experiment. We were over-loaned in order to be a toxic-bonds wasteland, we were forced to leave agriculture production. To be professional consumers for the west European products.

When the toxic bonds went beyond the critical mass, E.U pretended to be shocked by the financial state of the country (LOL!) and begun to help (punish) us with austerity measures in order (easy to understand) to get people poor and grab every Greek property.

Our political system is corrupted and rumours say that it cannot react to the punishments and the insults since big German firms have lists of politicians that got bribed over the years.

People wont accept any of it of course but until elections or something more efficient occurs, we are in deep sh**.

Europeans should look to what is happening in Greece because it is a plan to be set over most of the E.U countries with silly excuses in the near future (conspiracy theories? Dont bet on it).

Every statistic that EU and IMF has projected for Greece was rubbish. They did not get a single number right (unemployment, growth, revenues etc). Their excuse is that Greeks have not fulfilled their commitments. In the same time time we see Portugal that goes by the book to get in the same sh** we are and soon to have a second "help" (we saw their Minister of Economics begging Soible).

We do not want any more "help" from EU and IMF. We had enough.

Becky I hope you get a job real soon...and a better one this time!

    Sorry for being off-topic!!!

60 people are made to apply for it from the job centre or they lose thier benefits. :p

We had about 7% unemployment on 2009 and after the EU-IMF "help" (assault) we reached 20% in two years!

    Unbelievable record :)

I guess compulsory & voluntary redundancy situations are a bit different but most people seem to come out of it eventually and move onto better things.

Hope all works out OK. Just don't sell your speccy collection!
