ZX80 -> ZX81 keyboard overlay

I recently received a ZX80 with a ZX81 keyboard foil, so I thought.

But it turns out being only an overlay (fortunately!):

Thought it was nice to take some pics and put them here.
So this ZX80 is original after all.

Anyone seen this before?

    Has the Zx80 got the 'new' 8K ROM? I seem to remember that you got the foil when you upgraded the ZX80 ROM to the ZX81 8K ROM thus turning it, near as dammit, into a ZX81.

    Yes the only part missing was the NMI generator which got rid of the flickering screen. You could however purchase 3rd party NMI generators but I would not know how to recognise the component. Really nice pics.
