Hotmail freakout?!

edited April 2012 in Chit chat
Anyone else had a problem with Hotmail hackers/spammers lately?

I had an account hacked the other night, lots of spam sent, so I deleted everything that was in there, checked for viruses, changed the password. Today, logging in has been a bit hit and miss, and now it's telling me my account is blocked. It asks me to fill out a form to prove who I am, and this form asks for any passwords I've had over the years, my security questions/answers, my address, even my card details (I don't think they've ever had my address, let alone card details). It all feels a bit dodgy really, can I trust this form?

EDIT: Well, I tried it anyway. First without giving them the ins-and-outs of my life (it wouldn't let me submit the form), and then with the address and whatnot, and it's all been verified and I'm good to go. All appears to be kosha.

Sorry to everyone for the pointless thread. Can it be removed please?

(Unless it's somehow useful to anyone else, of course...)

Funny you should mention this, had a couple of spam emails and even text messages today which the originators claimed they knew nothing about.

It stated that they needed the information if you had paired a credit/debit card with a Zune account (or something similar - I imagine the same would apply for Xbox Live too), but I don't use cards for any of those services, thankfully.

I got hacked a few months back and if people clicked the message that the hackers sent it started trying to download sonething to their PC....

Changed all my passwords and everything and that seemed to pretty much instantly put a stop to it...bloody annoying for all concerned though..

It happened shortly after I'd used an internet caf? for the first time in about two years...hmmm....

I had a spam email sent from my account to my account as well as one person who's in my addy book.

Promptly changed password. Thankfully that addy is just used for forum registrations and nothing else.
Oh, no. Every time you turn up something monumental and terrible happens.
I don’t think I have the stomach for it.
