It is really nice to recover finally this game, looking forward to playing this (If there is no +2A incompatibility problem :D )

    Congrats!

No, but I said that because of what I read in the Cronosoft site ;)

"8 long years, and it's finally here, on cassette, for the 48K ZX Spectrum (though you will be able to get an emulator version for the 128K Spectrum too)."

    Another quality game.
I keep getting killed by the end boss with the spinning orbs, frustrating but really addictive. It has been a good day for homebrew games.

As for the boss - hide in the corner, his balls won't get you there :)

While this is good news, why oh why do we have to keep seeing these ridiculous full-page spamming restrictive download sites? What's wrong with just parking it on one's own web host or sticking it on WoS? Can someone who has my email just bung me a copy? It's ridiculous that this site has now clammed up over something as small as a Speccy snapshot file. Zipped up it'd be good for tens of thousands of downloads without even touching a 1GB cap.

    PM received, thanks.

If Chronosoft doesn't mind I can provide a dropbox link. All I need is the actual file (which I'm having trouble downloading).

That's fine with me. Just wanted to get the file out a.s.a.p. - didn't know that file download site was a bit crap :)

Ironically, I thought about joining dropbox, but I aborted the download as my internet speed is 0.14 mbps at the moment, and it's taking an eternity just loading internet pages at the moment, until BT fix the lines in our road.

Just having a quick first go and managed to get a complete Spectrum reset when I died for the first time. Was on about the fourth wave of baddies in, 128k TAP file linked above, Fuse 1.0.0.1 Windows in vanilla 128k mode. Anyone else seen anything like that?

Edit: First person who suggests it reset because I was too rubbish gets a two-fingered salute. :)

Could be one of the many hardware bugs in the ULA 128s (all meticulously emulated). Try selecting the +2A model. If it still crashes, file a bug report.

Well, I've played a bunch more times now using exactly the same config and it's been fine. I'm going to blame the ghost of chuntey past. :)

yay, got it out of the archive

Great to see this finally released. Nice to see my plot idea survived the ravages of time, even after having been eaten by a dog. ;)

Not working for me in ZXSpin.
Whatever 128 mode I use, I get the title screen, I get asked to select keys, then it goes to a completely black screen and just plays music. If I press '1' I can see a bit of garbage (half a character row I think) written at the top and bottom of the screen, but that's it.

Strange. I had a quick go at it on Spin emulating the +2A and managed to get to the end of the first level. Gonna try it under other emulation modes and possibly on real hardware to find out more.

By the way, the game is very nice :)

Looks like Spin 0.7 messing about again. If ULA+ is turned on it goes a bit funny. Also if the keystick is set to one of the Sinclair ports I get a recursive error dialog.
Trying it with all those turned off seems to work.

It's a ULA+ emulation problem. I have one directory marked 0.7s which has that problem and an older one marked 0.7n which does work.

Try using an older version of Spin.

Yup! Exact same thing.....playing on SpecEMU, not sure what 128k mode I was in....but yeah, just totally reset after I died.....

Apart from that it's pretty damned groovesome! :)
