Help Launch a ZX81 Rocket

edited April 2012 in Sinclair Miscellaneous
Someone on the ZX81 forums suggested that it would be possible to build a model rocket which would launch with a ZX81 as a payload.

The aim is to raise money for Comic Relief - for every euro donated, the intention is that the rocket will have to lift off by at least that many metres.

Hopefully the rocket will be launched at the ZX81 meeting in Germany in March 2013.

I'm not sure if the idea amazes me or not. Mixed feelings. Maybe a ZX81 clone instead of "wasting" an original one? :)

Unrelated to the topic, but this reminded me of other things people used to do with their ZX81. Someone once posted pictures of their theatre light controller and the brain of the whole thing was a ZX81.

I also remember reading somewhere (CSS?) that a ZX81 had to do some tasks related to nuclear power. I still don't know if it was a joke or not.

    Indeed it has many uses.
