Yeah, I've had them and didn't realise they were the same thing. They don't seem as good or else my nostalgia receptors are messing up the taste memories again ;) No space pirates on these packs either - grrr!

Been eating them constantly and there's no big change with them really..maybe not quite as strong tasting, but then that could be my taste buds....

No, I'd also say they're not as strong these days, probably had some E numbers removed, or something!

I still see Transform-A-Snacks too, but I've not had a pack for years so have no idea what they're like now.

    I just eat the crisps

Ah I see. I've seen all those pictures of you on your bikes and taught you must work out. Now I see that all that supposed muscle was simply crisp fat.

Thought this was a bumped thread until I did my homework.

Golden Wonder p*sses (geddit) on Walkers flavour-wise (my spell checker wants me to spell it "flavor")

Aldi though, do Ridge crisps which I swear are the same as McCoys and they do these peanut flavo(u)r things which I haven't seen for a while and they do Pringles alternatives which (honestly) taste better and they're 85p for a large packet and NO I don't work for them (yet) :-)

On the mylar bags... I just think this is tremendously wasteful overpackaging. My Dad used to run a factory making the stuff, and it's quite a complex product of laminated plastic and aluminium. Aluminium is a very energy intensive material to make, and sandwiching it in plastic makes it very hard to recycle.

I wonder if the bags really make any difference in the usual life of a crisp packet (I would imagine the vast majority are sold well before the packaging makes a difference).

I've wondered if those new foil bags that crisps are sold in could cause long term health issues (as they contain alluminium)? What was wrong with the old cellophane bags?

i think the salt and fat will kill you long before the foil kills you. ;)
