My scanner is a bit worn out, as you can see lines on the black parts. Time for a new one I think.

I think it's done quite well, between my current scanner (HP Deskjet combi) and my old dead canoscan lide they've done at least 19,013 scans.

i have an epson combi at the moment and also the lide one. the con with the lide one I have is they didn't write 64 bit drivers!!
except someone twigged u can use drivers off another scanner they do, and they work fine.

so now because of that , I avoid canon , also my camera that uses 2 tooth picks to fix a common design fault they pretend don't exsist.

they have a finite life because of the light ?

or do the track thing that it runs on, maybe that needs oil etc?

My canoscan started to get jammed, it was stretching the image, so grease may have helped.

Not sure about the HP combi, think it's the light.
