"Conversion" category in Infoseek question

edited July 2012 in Infoseek database
What does this option really mean? Is it a game which was released in a determined platform and time after is released for the Spectrum? Whats the gap of time necessary to consider it a conversion?

Thanks!

This value comes from the Commodore Plus/4 archive and is used for unofficial (fan made) releases.
It is not time-based, just it being unofficial.

    These are:
    - fan made conversions
    - companies who acquired a formal license to make a Spectrum version when the original company didn't want to
    - conversions of games that were originally physical rather than digital (mostly board games).
