The new WiiU is released in the UK today. I've not botheres with this one as theres nothing on it that I want to play at the moment and nothing due anytime soon either. I popped into GAME on the way home today and I was shocked at the price of the games! ?49.99 for the basic ones and ?54.99 for the ones that people msy actually want (ZombiU for example). I think I'll wair for a price drop ;-)

loads cheaper online, just GAME trying to cash in before christmas.
you'd prolly get it in tesco for a tenner cheaper. :D
Yeah, they're only about a fiver up on the prices of last generation game RRPs. It's just that you rarely get to see these prices as everyone's heavily discounting all the time. It's so much cheaper to buy on-line as the retailers can cut their mark-ups back to just a few pennies per unit.
So what's the deal with the tablet controller?
Do you not use the telly at all?
I think some games are playable directly on tge tablet, rather thsn the telly. Batman: Arkham City is one of them. I imagine that you'll still need the main console turned on though.
I'll buy one eventually, but I'll wait until a Zelda or proper Mario game is due out.
If I remember correctly, it has several features. You can, for example, be playing a game and using your TV, then switch it to the controller, walk away and continue playing.

Have you ever seen Zelda Four Swords Adventure for GC? Or Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles for GC? The tablet basically works like the Gameboy Advance did in those games.
Of course, it's not limited to just this use, but you get the idea.

it's still a console, but the joystick is the bit that changes / is like a tablet.
hint : try looking at the trailer on the site I gave, which has wii-motes *shrugs*
Bloody hell I didn't know they were that expensive! I'm interested in getting one, but only when there's a 3D Mario and Zelda.
