One of my 48k's does not produce a sound when keys are pressed, this is only when the ear jack is fully in, it also makes the beeper really quiet, take it out and alls fine,, ive retensioned the socket but its still the same, any ideas?
Is there a short circuit being formed when the jack plug is inserted?
Check both the jack plug and lead. Also check for metal flakes or solder splashes in the area / in / on the socket.

Step up to red alert. Sir, are you absolutely sure? It does mean changing the bulb!
Looking forward to summer in Somerset later in the year :)
Had a good look around where the socket was, all looked ok, checked the socket out too as best i could, couldnt see any problem but decided to replace it anyway, all sorted now! Thanks!
