The snow is just about settling in central London, which is a bit worrying as it can be a foot deep at home without showing any sign of it here.
  • Nothing as yet in York (except for the frozen snow that's still here from the other day).

Scottie, my Cardiff mates are spamming Facebook with snow reports. Looks like you guys are getting most of it.

Yes I'm in the valleys in what the BBC are calling the 'Red Zone' (the met office red alert everybody panic zone).

This shows you how deep it is. This was taken at the back of my house so it must actually be deeper in exposed parts.

    Lol, it does.

snowing here. Identifying snow: yep it's snow.

It started in heavy about 8 this morning and though it's lighter now at 4, it hasn't stopped all day. It's 9cm deep in my back garden.

And Fleet/Farnborough was supposed to be right on the edge of the amber warning bit.

  • Hardly even a covering of snow in Essex. I want my money back!

I just got to use my snow shovel. A few motorbikes about. Actually, I could've joined them, but I walk to work. Wouldn't venture out now it's dark though, and wouldn't have risked riding beyond town, but yeah quite a few scoots and 125's zipping about earlier. Won't be so viable tomorrow once it's all frozen.

Today we had a veil of snow covering the town around 3.30 PM, an occurrence which is rarer than ewgf writing a post of less than 10 words :)

Snowed here a couple of weeks back stayed for about a week and melted, was supposed to snow again this week or last week? Maybe?

    But it just rained instead.

We got a bit of snow couple weeks back, and a little bit more this last evening. But we've also had a "warm spell" which we're losing this week/weekend. Supposed to go down to -30C on Monday :-(

Which means you (Boozie) are bound to get the same within a few days thereafter ... BRRRRRR!

We have had snow here for the past 2 weeks. Too cold for it to melt. Currently about 5 inches at my place. The temperature is currently -10C. Glad I have an office job!

There hasn't been 1 snowflake up here (despite the Sun saying yesterday it was going to be 10 feet deep and we were all going to die!).
    I feel left out!

About 6" deep here judging from whats settled on the car roof but it's drifting quite a bit and the roads are very nasty. I was bombing home from work down the M5 this afternoon averaging about 25mph, no traffic queues or anything but that was the right sort of speed. Even the 4 x 4 nutters were only doing about 40 so it must have been bad.

You should see the drivers here, some of em will go 75 on a snow covered freeway! Mind you there a lot of vehicles built to handle those kind of roads here.

The gravel road to my house is never gets plowed and I have only just been able to avoid getting stuck so far. I really need a 4 wheel drive vehicle. :( If it gets any worse I am going to park at the beginning of my road and walk to the house. It's not very far really.

It's still better here than where I moved from 9 months ago though. Southeast Idaho was a nightmare in the winter.

    * Just noticed that was post number 666 for me! Creepy...
