Just found this in the Down To Earth code.

I like reading these old messages left behind by programmers.

The Serious Bit

 Dte was written on a
be-rubbered 48k Specky using
Ye Olde Zeus Assembla in 4
months. It contains some of my
first Z80 routines (can't you
tell) and a lot of code was
written using a tape recorder,
until I got Tony's Opus.
 What I'm trying to say is any-
one can write M/code even if its
just a hobby.

 Hi. I've just developed a new
3d shaded rotation system. It's
really fast.

-How fast ?

 140000 T-states a frame.

-And again in English

 1 frame every 25th of a second.

Specstrad Abuser Interview

 Yet another hit Potion game is
about to be released so we asked
the author, Dill Shnitsongroober
, about his new game....

-Hello Dill. Whats the game
 about ?

 Wow, erm, yeah, its got sprites
 , sound, scrolling, speech,
 five colours per square, and a
 free beer mat. Do you mind if I
 smoke ?

-Not at all but tell me Dill why
 is the game so late ?

 Yeah. Wow, you see I had to get
 this, err, 'cos it's mine.

-What's yours ?

 Treble Drambuey & Guiness, oh,
 sorry. The Spectrum is mine. We
 did try programing without it
 but we had some problems.

-So exactly what programing
 system have you got ?

 We've developed a game writting
 program. I can't say a lot but
 it does have a FOR-NEXT loop,
 a RND & a devious POKE command.

-Why is the ggame 3 years late ?

 Look there's a lot of numbers
 in that thing, if a few hundred
 are wrong it could ruin the
 playablity so it takes tttime
