Swimming Pools.

  • I've been there several times. It still holds it's ground now as an excellent place to take families. It's a shame the plastic done is getting burned by the sun.

We use to go to all the locals in Merton. The one that 'freaked' me out was at Carshalton. It was the first pool I ever saw that never had the gutter, or the raised edge. The water was level with the floor. Seemed wierd back in the 70s.

What's with the mass of paths and roads?
not sure tbh but its near the train station (sort of back from where the pics taken), the bus station, i suppose the pathway towards the left goes up there, and the magic roundabout, sort of forward / right, so suppose they go off to all the various ways in and out.

  • I haven't been swimming for years. I reckon I could still do it.

These days I generally press 'x' to swim fast and hold 'o' or square to surface.

Another pool I remember is Temple Cowley Pool in Oxford. It was build in the mid 80s to replace the one built in the 40s. Despite being in good repair, its going to be knocked down despite many protests by locals, who are fighting the demolition on legal grounds. What seems to be beneath it all is corruption, it seems the developers of the new 'what ever' were going to pay egregious amounts to the councilors.
