Its an odd one and no mistake, the foam is really thin, probably housed some plastic mouldings to house everything in once upon a time. Toyed with the idea of getting some foam and cutting it to shape so a speccy, tape recorder and psu would fit but to be honest, aint go the time or inclination.
Anyway, if someone wants it, call it a fiver plus postage!
Because it had a speccy, psu and tape player in it when it arrived! lol, plus it looks very much like a case i saw in infoseek but which now i cannot find frustatingly
same one I have here.. guesser it's just got compartments specifically for speccy parts. mine came with a + / interface 1 & microdrives and a few tapes.. should tape a pic to show how it's laid out unless macc wants ot.
Is it vacuum formed fog? if so it should be fairly easy to copy.
err "yer" .. (I'll pretend I know what that is).. it's a bit like the way them selection box of 5 sweets are at xmas.. or the display stand for sweets etc.
plastic is stronger than the selection box.. but not the toughened sort used for display stands
I'm guessing it's very machine specific.. as that PSU housing is for a + psu.. also I doubt there would be room for the toastrack of a 128.
there is also 2 tabs on the side, that clip in.. to support it that I didn't take a pic of.. the sort that are click in / used on older bags from the 70's or 80's etc
Thats whats missing with mine then, just the plastic insert, probably got smashed along the ways as its probably quite brittle I'd have thought. Foam would be better but there might be a heat issue! One of those jobs to go on the backburner for a while i think!

I had this case when I first bought my speccy in 1984. The plastic tray was too thin and flimsy and didn't last, but on the plus side, the case had space for leads, PSU, tape deck and about 6 games, plus it was lockable. A very neat and tidy storage solution until the games collection started to grow beyond 6 tapes ...

Is it a carrying case for a 48k ZX? Would the PSU fit where the foam isn't? (the black square)

I thought it was quite nice + the fact it has a multiface, was the main reason I bid ;)
