Sleeping dogs problem

Over the last few days Sleeping dogs as started to randomly freeze for no reason (this is the PC version). I've done a virus check and nothing, Steam told me delete the appscache folder and retry but it froze again.
I've no idea whats causing the game to freeze as it was okay till last week and it's seriously slowing down my progress. Could x-fire be intefering with the game?
Anyone got any idea what could be causing it?

I don't know what X-Fire is, but is it possible to try playing the game without it, to see if the problem persists?

I've updated my graphics drivers and it SEEMS to be okay, ive ran it for the last 20 minutes and it seems okay. I'll check properly tomorrow.
Hopefully thats the end of that problem and i can get back to playing the game properly!
