Good Online 360 Shooters for Casual Users

edited March 2013 in Chit chat
What are the best popular Xbox360 first or third person shooters for casual online play? To clarify, I would like to know which games tick the following boxes:

Can join and exit a game easily (without having to be part of a team/clan etc.)

Has plenty of maps to choose from.

Maps are fairly easy to play in without having to be familiar with the layout first.

Easy to get into without having to be brilliant at the game (ie none of the spawn - dead, spawn - dead, spawn - dead, crap)

Headset not necessarily required.

Your suggestions will be welcome. Thanks.

the team death matches on call of duty. (modern warfare 3 is prolly the best)

you dont really have to play as part of a team so you dont have to talk to them. they randomly choose the team for each match so its never the same people anyway

knowing the map isn't important as you can just follow other members on the team about.

it will match you to people on your level

You'll probably find yourself dying a lot less in the Battlefield games, and you score points for things like fixing vehicles for teammates, giving them health packs etc., so you don't have to be an unstoppable killing machine to do well. The maps are huge, you can drive/fly any vehicle you see, in my opinion it's easily the better of the big boys of the FPS multplayer bunch.

Call Of Duty multiplayer involves a lot of spawn-die-spawn-die headaches. At least it does for me...

I'd go for COD myself, Black Ops is a bit less hardcore and lets you get the best gun combo nice n quickly

This is my fave class from memory, M16 silenced with a red dot or ACOG sight (you could use a shotty or noob tube but not worth it) and use dual wield magnums or errr I forget the name but the russian pistols below the magnum in the menus

    As for perks

1 - Ghost (even before you get Pro it's the best perk by far)
2 - Doesn't really matter, I tend to go for Steady Aim, Sleight of Hand or Hardened
3 - Marathon or Ninja....from memory Marathon pro took work to get but is worth it as no one seems able to keep track of how much faster you are getting around the map which means you can often get the jump of people

Kill streaks should be the radar, the radar jammer (ruins the day of anyone with the SR71 and generally assists your team as the the other team loose tactical awareness even if they are a clan and chatting to each other etc) and care package - these are easy to get so cycle nice n fast, giving you more time with an advantage than say the higher end but powerful kill streaks

Add in a claymore to watch your back and I promise that you will (with a little patience) be going positive K/D most games....and often "going big".

Class works best as a "campy" one but that simple gives you the chance to slowly learn the maps by staking out a small area each spawn and getting the feel for where most people travel.

Once you have your eye in then it's quick enough to be a used jumping from cover to cover in mobile fire fights or to let you flank the other teams spawn

It's not great at pure run n gun but with steady aim the M16 hip fired at close range is lethal (honest....it doesn't feel like it but it is) and if not then the twin pistols should take down one, maybe two opponents if you spam the triggers like mad before you need to start knifing.

I found that worked for me anyway when I was playing it and no reason it shouldn't work for you too.

I had similar set ups for MW3 as well but not with the M16 as the pause between bursts was too long....The M4 was fine though so no worries.

In fact - MW3 let you save clips so here's some old ones which might help....or not

Run n gun....not flat out but kinda cover hopping

nice camping spot no one but me seems to use...

more camping...bit more obvious a spot

trying to use the Light Machine Guns, ugh

    bit of run n gun

javelin abuse....yes even I succumbed to the temptation now n then

actually thinking about it - if you want casual then try Brink - it was flawed but you could play it veeeeeery casually as it didn't track your stats so you could focus on the mission without worrying about people looking to buff their K/D
