    Thanks for the video. I've always fancied a 'scope but not got the skills to really know how to take advantage of one. I do like the Fruitcake devices though and own a few.

    I'm still learning myself. Still reading through the manual and trying out a few simple things.
    It's even very different than my old DC wide band vac. tube oscilloscope.

    Oscilloscopes aren't terribly hard to use, and you can get a reasonable second hand digital storage oscilloscope for reasonable money these days with more than enough capability for typical stuff. I have a (probably mid-90s vintage) Tektronix digital storage scope, it has 100MHz bandwidth and 1Gsample/sec sample rate, and being able to trigger and record momentary signals is great when debugging hardware. The Tek scopes are pretty easy to use, the menus are self-explanatory and the manuals are online too.

    I <3 my Owon SDS7102. It's not exactly an two grand Agilent but for the price its brilliant.
