the rules of your "comp" aren't good.. enough to put people off

    c64..

    gfx..
    1) I can easily fake what editor I use editor I to pixel in, so you don't know... it makes no difference.. besides fakes can easily be found, the c64 pixellers know stuff that has been image-wired.

    2) if I do want to include my group logo somewhere, that's down to me.. you don't want to have my logo ? because it's gonna get re-used elsewhere and perhaps again re-badged.

    music..

why would I want to include the source module of my sounds / patterns.. it's about composing tunes *NOT* teaching others how to make stuff.. besides , whats to stop you rebadging it as your own work!!

work stages *YES* I understand for gfx.. but there is no need for for the work stages of a tune, since proving you made a tune is very easy. even via *ONE* pattern used in the tune.. that way it stops you lot re-using it elsewhere.

Same discussion about the rules every year. Are they ever going to change? Agree with fog regarding the source file thing. Also, cover songs should be disallowed in music compos.

If you have any questions - I'll be happy to answer them. I can also help you to send your works to the party and to serve as your representative.

The rules are designed with just one thing in mind. Ideally, your works should be tailor-made for the party and the rules are trying to make it harder to submit work that was previously published elsewhere. Of course, if you've shown your work to your friends or your wife, it does not matter.

These are the contests on Di:halt 2013 this year:

    1. Graphics - Standard 6912 or multicolor or gigascreen.
    2. AY Music
    3. AY Beeper
    4. Intro using effects on the Border.
    5. 1024b Intro
    6. Demo

Works can be sent in any format, we will do everything in our power to show them.

@newart: Thanks for the offer. No questions though, I'm just not happy with the rules. If you absolutely require sources, then at least they shouldn't be published afterwards. And as far as beeper contest is concerned, there seems to be a tendency to favor, ermm, not-so-well-made cover tracks.
Anyway, not sure if I'll submit anything for DiHalt this year. I'll send something for CC though.

Also, you as my representative? I'm still waiting for my diploma from CC'12 :-P

It is necessary, in case if you have not provided PNG. What would be the organizer could start the editor and make PNG.
    2) if I do want to include my group logo somewhere, that's down to me.. you don't want to have my logo ? because it's gonna get re-used elsewhere and perhaps again re-badged.
It would be necessary that exclude the name voting.

And to enhance the intrigue. People love to guess who drew what the picture.

Decided to do two versions, without the signature of the show, and signed for distribution. Of course if you give only the version with the signature, we still show it to the party. We are very loyal.

It would be necessary that the organizers or anyone could make a collection of works in a single program (work viewer) for the ZX Spectrum.

Of course if you send for example, Beeper format only TAP, we still show it to the party.

No need to think of these rules as the constitution.

They go from the depths of the ages, literally from the late 90's.
    Since then much has changed.

Organizers often copy the rules last year, and so year after year.

Mu respect your questions and we will try to formulate rules easier.

Anyway, not sure if I'll submit anything for DiHalt this year. I'll send something for CC though.

Please remind me in personal messages of your work title or what name you exposed her.

I think I can answer this one in a bit more detail. It is pretty much a standard for all big Russian demoparties to produce (after the party) the pack of works, one or several TRD images with all demos, graphics and music (e.g. check out the Pouet pages for DI:HALT or Chaos Constructions). They are always distributed freely. People who will be making these packs will need the module sources; the sources are not intended for distribution.

Re the rebadging. I have seen this discussed a lot on WoS, but not on zx-pk.ru. It just does not seem to be such a big issue for the Russian scene. I do not really understand what makes this difference, but the culture is different. Perhaps, the scene is just too small and with everyone knowing everyone it is just impossible to pull off a stunt like that.

if you look at my original post, it refers to c64 stuff.. not spectrum stuff...even with no names, I've seen some mediocre graphics get up voted (perhaps by drunken judges)

How do I load these? The Run file just loads commander program. Managed to load RVA from TRDOS but don't know what it is. How do I load the AY musics?

In the commander to press SPACE. For viewing of pictures - guide the cursor at the name and to press V.
For AY-music listening - guide the cursor at the name and to press Z.
