DSi XL, ZXDS and AceKard 2i...

Hi Folks,

Stupid like I updated my DSi XL to firmware version 1.4.5E and not surprisingly my AceKard 2i no longer works. Argh!!! Bloody Nintendo. I only use the AceKard to run ZXDS and now I am stuck.

The AceKard web site seems to be dead - does anyone know if they are or intend to release an update for the AceKard 2i to support 1.4.5E?

    I would say keep an eye on gbatemp.net as they would have news on this kind of thing.

    Acekard 2i works on DSi up to firmware 1.4.6, and un 3DS up to 4.3. The only thing to remember is to update the Acekard BEFORE updating the console.

    If your console is already updated, you will need another console with a lower firmware versi?n to update the acekard (hint: a fat DS por a DS lite always work).

    Thank you for your reply and that does sound hopeful. Not come across 1.4.6 yet (is that a non UK/Europe firmware version?). Just checked, my DSi XL reports it is running 1.4.5E.

    The AceKard 2i shows up as "Deep Labrinth Digital Bros" but now gives the following error when I try to load it...

    An error has occurred.
    Press and hold the POWER
    Button to turn the system off.
    Please refer to the Nintendo DSi
    Operations Manual for details.

    Luckily I have access to other DS devices to update the card the only issue is that I do not where to get the appropriate update from.

    Could you please point me in the right direction?

    Visited GBATemp.net and the feedback is that there is no update planned for the AceKard 2i that will allow it to support firmware 1.4.5. Basically, the AK2i is a dead product and I will have to buy a replacement card.

    Are you still able to buy the cards? I thought Nintendo had made it illegal to buy in the UK?

    Well I ordered a SmartCard DSTWO today so I will let you know... :-)
