What's the most embarrasing record you've bought?
What's the most cringeworthy or downright awful single you've bought (so far)?
Mines is either Cliff Richard and the Young Ones Living Doll which i bought because i liked the Young Ones (but not Cliff Richard).
I also bought Kylie Minogue 'The Locomotion' when i was 14, luckily i no longer have that single!

I still go red when I think about buying that, the fact I was 11 is still no excuse :D
though I was only about five
Thankfully I have no idea where it is now :D
I don’t think I have the stomach for it.

:-o
My parents bought me a Smurfs album when I was a kid, 6-7 maybe.
The Wombles album though, with birthday money... I don't remember the exact date (or name of the album) but Remember You're A Womble and Wombling Merry Xmas were on the album.
Makes current chart music sound like annoying repetitive chav rubbish...
...oh wait
I nicked it
Bugger me! They had more than 1 album? :o
Awful renditions of Sci-Fi films, some with vocal introductions, such as a Tommy Cooper sound-a-like saying, "ET PHONE HOME!"
Tragic.
i have loads of cheesy ones :P
boney m - rivers of babylon
tweets - birdy song
glen and chris - diamond lights
pet shop boys
five star
man 2 man meets man parish - male stripper (i have that on 2 12"s and 7" lol, awesome)
i even have a john travolta lp, with poster :)
You should have 'forgotten' that when you moved house!
any spurs supporter has it :)
I have loads of embarrassing records that I got given for sampling . the more obscure the better.. e.g. Kingston trio had a really nice acapella harmony that I lifted :)
I had that Smurf album. Infact, I have it on my iPod (along with my Mr Men tape) :-D
I bought that Zig and Zag single AND I was old enough to have known better :-(
Haha! My ma used to be involved with a lot of animal charities which used to have Summer fayres, fairs, faytes, jumble sales, fundraisers, and the like. When the big boxes of vinyls came through my house weeks leading up to the events waddya reckon happened ?
I've gained several cheesy disco records and the like from boxes of crap people didn't want, my most prized vinyl turd being "All Together Now with Rolf Harris" I think it's from 1969?
Best vinyl I own :D
I also had *cough*, tweets - birdy song.
And some others:
Matchstick Men and Matchstalk Cats and Dogs - Brian and Michael
Jesus Christ Superstar (the album)
Rockwell - Somebody's Watching Me
Dennis Waterman - I Could Be So Good For You
Thompson Twins - Doctor Doctor
Technotronic - Pump up the Jam
Probably was a few others but my memory ain't as good as it used to be.
Admittedly, I liked Pet Shop Boys early stuff.... :)
Me too, but wasn't keen on much of their stuff after about 1995.
They were pretty big in the "motherland" :-P
See discography.
Hey now! This was the proverbial *bomb* at the time! Yo!
'Two Little Boys' by Rolf Harris.
Euurghhugheeuurrk...cringe...
My ZX Art Music Page
Carlos Michelis Theme
Albums-wise, probably Daphne & Celeste - We Didn't Say That! . Got a very weird look off the cashier in the record shop buying that one, aged about 25. Think I was probably going through a bad patch :-(
first song I ever owned, got given to me though so not my fault :)
Agreed, pump up the jam is not really embarrassing, far worse early techno pop type tunes
In my defense I was a little cub....
What's wrong with that one? I have most of the tracks from that on my iPod..
We have a winner! :p
You certainly were!
I remember seeing them at the Phoenix festival and the moshpit was throwing bottles of piss at them. Slipknot were on after and were worried by the hostile crowd apparently, but they were just putting on a special performance for D&C.
lol,the teenage girls just getting on with it, and the hard rockers worrying. :p
Although, embarrassingly, I still like it. :D
