MGT Two-Face and DivIDE
I've got a MGT Two-Face that I used to connect to my Spectrum 48K and then a DivIDE in order to take use of the Kempston joystick interface in the Two-Face.
At a retro gaming event in c:a 2009, the DivIDE broke down. It turned out at least one of the GAL chips had become mush, to the point that a programmer was unable to erase and reprogram it, so I had to get replacement GAL chips.
Since then, I have a couple of times tried to hook up the combination again, just to see one of the GAL chips go zap as soon as I enable the slot the DivIDE is plugged in, usually the rear one. If I plug the DivIDE directly into the Spectrum, it works perfectly fine.
I realize the MGT Two-Face was mainly meant for Plus-D owners, but for a while the combination worked fine for me. I have disassembled it and found it contains three 74LS type chips and the rest just looks like passive traces. All chips are soldered in, so I wonder if it is worth the trouble trying to remove, test and replace them?
I know I could get a modern joystick interface with bus through that is certified to work with a DivIDE, or some other vintage joystick like a RAM Turbo that I spotted on the VCF-GB has the through port and worked with DivIDE.
Are there any collectors interested in a MGT Two-Face, given it may not be in perfect working condition? (I realize the latter question may rather be asked in a different forum section in case I'm looking to get rid of it)
