Hello!
Hey folks, just checking in ... been a while :)
Hope all is well with everyone on the forums. Did I miss much? I know I've not been about these past few years, loads of life-changing stuff going on: got married (I think I mentioned that before I left?), bought a house, had a son, bought a bigger house (they do kind of take over don't they!!), had a daughter. Setting up a small company offering hosted/cloud solutions to SMBs; still got my full-time job. Oh and I had a hernia op, which is nice.
It's all good.
So ... how is everyone?
Any juicy debates for me raging at the moment for me to stick me oar in?? :)

Ooh nice one thanks Phil. Think I'll toddle off to that :) Cheers
I guess what you really missed was the Spectrum30 Show last year. It won?t happen again so soon, but there are always plenty of news around the Spectrum. You might have heard about the Ethernet Interface. First it was used to twitter messages, now you can even play Multiplayer LAN game with it. Then there is the new Spectrum Clone "Harlequin".
May I recommend our newsletter to get an update:

Yes, we have been thoroughly spoilt over the last couple of years for quality new content. I lift my hat off to all those responsible for bringing all the great new games and development tools.
Some of the recent games, had they been released in the Spectrum's heyday would have bowled everyone in the scene over and we'd still be talking about them today!
Welcome back by the way.
Probably the most significant development of recent times is the latest release of esxDOS. Which bits of hardware were you thinking of? Because besides divMMC and Velesoft's unreleased new multi-interface I'm struggling to think of anything really interesting that wasn't created before 2011. Also I assume on the code front you mean new applications of old techniques. The only thing I can think of that's really novel is divIDEo. What were you thinking of?
Ah, you pre-empted my question. Rotatrix is the logical development of BorderTrix, but the novel thing about that was pre-loading all the registers to enable the use of more colour in the border. Bifrost* was inspired by ZXodus, but the novel thing about that was using Frobush's method for drawing sprites with LD/PUSH and applying it to attribute updates. I didn't think there were any new beeper engines, just new tools for old engines. You did miss out 80-column BASIC, but from what I can tell no-one is using it. Oh and there's that FZX thing. :)
You forgot Mole Rat and Buzzsaw+ :D
(dusts himself off)
Ahem.
Great to see you around, as someone who admired the skill involved in what you did back in the day

R Tape - How could I forget you or JoeFish. You have both produced some fantastic stuff. I'd be here forevere if I was to list all the new developments on the speccy. I think Winston needs a mention for his SpectraNet work as well. Gasman for KissKill...... the list goes on.
For the ZX81 we got 20 games in hires coded in 1K memory.
All games have a video on youtube and can be downloaded from SINCLAIRZXWORLD.COM

I'm working on something in Russian. Just don't expect it anytime soon.
You tease. Finish off Exodus ][ first!
That's actually a functional requirement of the thing I'm working on. Here's a scrap for you:
And when it's done it I think it probably won't be susceptible to zero day completion pokes.
Nice, now stop posting here and start sweating over your keyboard 8-)
I still have a lot of pen and paper problem solving to do before I can get back to the keyboard. Probably best to just forget about it until I have some actual news.
