Quick dip-in, dip-out?
My attention span isn't what it once was, so it's probably descended to somewhere near the level of my game-playing skills.
I played "Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning" on XBox last year and one of the things I really liked about it was being able to play for 5 minutes or 5 hours, depending on how long I had available.
So, what games would you recommend for a quick session that could lead to something longer?

Stop the Express
Deathchase
Chuckie Egg
I usually end up playing these for a lot longer than I originally intend to.
Play a single friendly, the Cup, or a whole season. The choice is literally yours
edit. Melvyn?! lol *Emlyn Hughes. Blame the iPad ...
I've tried two out this morning so far. I was a bit worried that ZnorXman's "Eric and the floaters" might be, well, a bit "crap" let's say, but it reminds me of Jonathan's "The Fantastic Mr Fruity" (which is a good thing!)
Also tried Star Raiders II - good blasting fun.
Trapdoor, Exolon and Rex are my other favs that are easy to get in and out of.
Bytes:Chuntey - Spectrum tech blog.
Collect the 'ZX's, avoid the nasties, push the acorns strategically. Alternative graphics on the B side.
I've never managed to beat the first level on this.
Also Mugsy and Diktator can be played from start to finish in 10 minutes, so are good for a quick blast
Duet
Commando
Cobra
Any of the early Ultimate games really - Psst, Cookie, Jet Pac, Trans Am, etc.
Chuckie Egg
Jet Pac
Bumpy
"Back in the day" I also used to load up Quazatron, Sabre Wulf, Rambo and Bomb Jack for a quick bash, but I've not done so of late. Hmmm....
Cookie
Penetrator
Froggy
Any Pac-Man clone
Any sports game like DT Decathlon, Hypersports, Super Test etc

I mean in theory with the introduction of snapshots and emulators you can pick up and put down any game at leisure.
If you're stuck with a real spectrum any game that involves embarking on some kind of mission, but with no save function, is kind of out the window. JSW for example
Yes - that's a great game! I've played that a lot - and Pariborotoo
I've just had a go - finished the first screen after about four attempts, but there seemed to be a fair element of luck involved as to whether you start the screen by moving in a safe direction!
True - there are games such as LoM where I make heavy use of snapshots, but I played Chronos yesterday for the first time in a long time which is one of the things that got me thinking about potentially short games.
I find that games of Buzzsaw+ last a lot longer than five minutes! Definitely agreed on Pariboro.
BeTiled! is my favourite puzzle game at the moment. Buzzsaw+, Pariboro and BeTiled! all play well using touchscreens, so are fantastic for loading onto a tablet to pass the time while on the train.

Some shooters are good for that as well such as 1942, SWIV or Fernadez must die.

Nice little game that I haven't seen before - thanks!
How do you redefine the keys though?
