A water main has decided to have a little lie down and left a large section of Brummie town without water.

I thought is was my fault at first because I had the sort of crap this morning that in olden times they would have been writing ballads about and we lost the supply very shortly afterwards but apparently it's just a burst main.

The upshot is that all the jobs I was going to do today (beer and wine related stuff, make the christmas cake, clean the patio ect) are water dependant so I'm going to get the soldering iron out and make a new raspberry pi Spectrum instead.

Wonder if we will get a rebate on the water rates....... thought not.

we had "fun" when they were replacing all the Victorian mains , maybe 2-3 years ago.. and it took months with no parking etc.. are they old up there also, or did they fix em ?

notice here the water pressure after is also lower as a result.. so much for progress.

we all take power / water for granted, until it goes off. half the houses, some being now flats. here will lose power while 2 or 1 flat in 3 will still be ok as it's on a different main
