R.I.P. Paul Walker
Awful way to day...
(although part of me, still thinks it's a bit ironic).
Always felt that he was never has big has he should have been... but the Fast & Furious movies are always fun to watch.

thought he was good in 'timeline'
Really sad to hear this...a cruel twist of fate. :(
I've been enjoying the last few Fast & Furious films. They might be cliched and badly scripted nonsense, but they're the best films in recent years for capturing that 80s-style-action-movie-feel that's missing from a lot of new stuff.
I'd like to see a few for the poor people who died in the Glasgow helicopter crash, that definitely wasn't their fault.
It seems you only get sympathy if you're famous...
Paul Walker was a passenger in the car. Are you suggesting he was too blame for the crash and that the helicopter pilot was not at fault for that crash?
I do kind of get what you're saying though!
To be fair Karingal, I don't think people are honestly more sympathetic towards famous people. It's just what happens on the internet. The deaths in Glasgow are truly tragic, as is Paul Walkers....but it's not a competition. He wan't driving the car, so it's not like it was his fault either.
I know what you're saying. Film and TV stars seem to get all the attention. But there are probably other reasons for that rather than people being more sympathetic...
This guy is famous all over the world. Pretty much everyone will have heard of him everywhere. Whereas there will probably be few people outside the UK who will know anything about the helicopter crash...
It might not be fair or right, and I can see how people get angry about such things..but it's just the way it is. There are some people who will have watched every one of Paul Walker's movies and feel that through them they actually know him a bit...stupid, maybe...but to those fans his death will affect them a lot more than the ones in Glasgow.
I guess what I'm trying to say is, it's not that people are necessarily caring more about celebs...it's just that they maybe feel they know the people a bit and so they feel they should let people know? Also, I guess it's just a bit more expected..if that makes any sense.....and also maybe a bit more accepted? I mean 3 teenagers died along the road from me in a car crash last week, but it wouldn't cross my mind to put up a thread on here about it, regardless of how saddened I am by it...
Oh I don't know if I'm making any sense at all...I probably shouldn't even post this..But death is usually tragic regardless of who dies, and RIP threads should be respected, whoever they are for...
*Edit* Didn't actually mean literally "Everyone everywhere will have heard of him" but more that he would be well known internationally by a wide range of folk...just clarifying that!
The Fast & The Furious not the sort of film you'd watch on a whim thinking it might be good?
Yes, people die everyday. But it's normal to feel sad and shocked when it's someone you knew personally, or grew up watching, or felt emotionally attached to, or simply liked... If you're known worldwide and admired by many and you suddenly pass away, an emotional worldwide reaction is to be expected.
Two people died in that car crash, but his death is the one that will be felt the most.
Wait, wat?
