WTF is this and why
See this video. Last year I say a video on generating electricity in just this same style. I don't have the knowlege to refute it, but why?

The foods they show are crap and obesogenic anyway so the symptoms given, especially tiredness and weight gain are totally explained without resorting so some extra cause as claimed here.
Did you notice that the drawing of the tired fat man also had an unhappy face and even more obviously that they only ticked the 'You have this parasite' box? Not even subtle :)
Are they selling something? Or are they just conspiracy theory nuts?
They're selling probiotics....
Although I do have loads of the symptoms and agree candida probably does play a big part in it!
But I'm not willing to fork out for probiotics in order to tackle it...I just need to stop eating crappy food! :D

Both, actually. The product they want us to buy is named Keybiotics, but I agree they sound completely like conspircay theorists, what with the stentorian voice and the way they try to shove everything down our throats without giving us pause to think critically. Or at least that's the intention I percieved, however I always balk at these types of - ahem - "scientific" reports: Admittedly, while I may have persevered longer than you did, i didn't watch it to the end either, because I found the general tone of the advertisement more and more annoying as it went on.
Just like the OP, Scottie USA, I had also watched the "cheap electricity" video, and together with a third video "report" about how to attract women, they are all in the same vein: a stentorian voice talking to the viewer in a condescending tone, like we don't have the mental acumen to think for ourselves. I can only say that I detest such tactics.
Happy New Year btw. :)

I totally agree with you; the best way to lose weight and improve your general well-being is to eat less, eat healthier, and exercise more.

I have found that using Google Docs works well for this. I have a friend who is also attempting to lose weight. Neither of us is stupidly large, but it's important to keep these things under control before they get too bad. Anyway, we use a Google Docs spreadsheet to enter our weekly weights and produce progress graphs. It make a game of it and that makes it easier :)
Yeah, I've got a couple of friends who are trying to lose weight too, and my mother as well! So it should make for a nice wee competition! :D
Like you say, it's far easier when you have someone to compare notes with!
1. Get yourself some good fat monitoring scales. I use Ormron Karadascan BF508 because it can get a Vicreal fat reading due to having a pull out hand grip as well as the feet pads.
2. Calculate your Base Metabolic Rate (BMR) so you can work out your kCal requirements at your current rate and at your target weight. Google it, there's plenty of data on how to do it.
3. Keep a food diary. It gets boring, but it works.
4. Cut out or at least reduce ready meal use.
5. Try very hard to cut out as much refined sugar as possible. Unless you're about to go on a marathon run or something similarly energy intensive it's just bad for you.
6. Cut down on the red meat. We're apes, most apes eat raw fruit and veg most of the time. Sure, we're omnivores, but that just means we CAN eat pretty much anything, it doesn't mean we MUST. Your body will work better if you treat it like the ape body it is. Plus the environmental impact of a low or no meat diet is much lower.
I'm pescatarian (to save you looking it up, that's no meat, just fish) and NO, I don't miss bacon. I mention that because it's such a common question :). So doing mostly ape diet wasn't difficult for me. I appreciate it's harder for those of you who like your meat, but I believe your body will thank you for it if you give it a go for an odd week here and there. You can pretty much stuff in as many raw veg and fruit (mostly veg, some fruit) as you can chew in a day and still lose weight and not feel hungry.
7. Vary things. Following a single plan can get boring. Many people stop their plan and put the weight back on. Have plan B, C, D, E, F etc all ready to go so that when you've had enough of plan A you go to B rather than back to plan zero where you put on the extra weight in the first place
8. Measure as much as you can. Weight, waist size, fat %, vicreal fat % if you have the appropriate scales, body density if you can contrive a practical way to do it etc etc. If you don't measure, you won't know what's working. For example, if you do a lot of exercise you may gain weight because muscle weighs more than fat. If you don't measure your fat % to see what's really happening to your body you might get discouraged and go back to your old weight gaining ways.
I hope you find some useful thoughts in there :)

and that 1 guy who had been dismissed as a crank was actually correct IRC. the wartime diet was far more healthier than now, apparently.
the problem with announcements of such is they'll pick things they know the makers don't want you to see.. e.g. corn flakes is fortified with "iron" and they wouldn't show it on telly recently. aspertaine.. is another thing thats doing the rounds, much like the old are plastic bottles healthy.
the tests with dogs / sugar were/are silly , as a relative had a diabetic dog.
I think having some exercise before you eat in the morning helps as your burning off what's in the body more..
different types of sugar.. some of it in fruit occurs naturally vs what the processed stuff is.. even though that comes from beet / cane.
BUT pineapple although a fruit is not too good for diabetics, is 1 example of something to not eat a lot of.
it's all down to energy, and hows it's concentrated etc. I doubt I'm the only one here who did the peanut burning thing in a science lesson, many moons ago.. was to do with the oil within it IRC.
You should only eat when your body tells you that you are hungry. But with food so easy and cheap to get, and (most) people not having to do much in the way of exercise in their day, combined with many other factors (24 hour telly, so food adverts every 5 to 15 mins over 24 hours a day, snacking etc) makes it easy to fall in to the bad habit of eating too much.
If your energy intake is limited to below your bodies energy requirements, no matter what food types you eat, you will loose weight. Of course, you should have a varied and balanced diet in order to get the natural vitamins and minerals that the body needs.

Step up to red alert. Sir, are you absolutely sure? It does mean changing the bulb!
Looking forward to summer in Somerset later in the year :)
Also, as Fog mentioned, different types of sugar.
Highly processed and bleached sugar loses a lot of good stuff that remains in fruit. Some of that may offset the bad effects of sugar overdose. But also, unless you shove a dozen apples in a juicer and drink the results straight down, fruit takes longer to eat so the sugar hit takes longer to hit your system.
