New Game: GENEHTIK

A newer game from Monty Designs (again).

GENEHTIK.TAP-04.pngGENEHTIK.TAP-06.png

I translated the history of the game the more I could, so you can understand it:

You're a piglet from GENEHTIK and, as every day, you like to wear in green, red or yellow, and for that you must pick your crop if you want to go home to beat you a smoke with your colleagues.

Or not...?

Your mission is to collect, around 24 screens, 20 crop plants of this year and a Kritikal seed to plant in a concrete pot, so accessing the final screen, but our way won't be a bed of roses, indeed not.

Our objectives are guarded by all kinds of pests and elements that will make them impossible to reach in, obstructing our task. So get to work to help our little pig and complete his mission successfully and let him join his colleagues in the neighborhood.

How come all these recent games use the same music? Lots of very talented musicians available either in here or over at the 1bit music forum who, I'm sure, would be happy to pen an awesome original tune for these new games.

The game looks great, but I'm getting sick of that tune! :D

In fact, I tried to make something nice-sounding in Phaser1 when I had an idea to bring up a lamey Churrera game - but both of those times I merely gave up on using Collocador.exe. D:

Might as well release both songs for free yet credited usage.

    P. S. Does anyone know whether it's possible to properly compile the game with the other beeper engines? :S
  • edited February 2014
As long as the beeper engine doesn't need a ISR vector table located at a fixed position (for which there's simply no room, most of the time), you can use whichever engine you want.

ISR vector ta... Okay, I guess a noob like me would need some explanation on that :v

Some engines work in a special mode called IM2 and need a relatively big data table (257 bytes) located at a specific memory address, and such memory address is usually being used by the graphic backend the game engine uses.

There's many engines which don't have such requirement and you can use freely. Phaser, Music Box, and many more.

If you export assembly from beepola and there's a "IM2" anywhere in the code that means that you won't probably make it work in the engine. If there isn't, you still have to adapt the player somehow, but it usually implies just changing the labels so they fit with the syntax z88dk requires, commenting EIs and DIs, and making the entry point accesible for the engine.

Oooh, so that's how it works... Thanks! I might see what I can do with it.

And what about the bug Yerzmyey and myself have discovered? I happened to see myself digged in the same screen.

That's why I personally don't like Churrera games made by that kinda people - these are not really original, attractive and throughoutly tested. :c

the guy asks for betatesting in his site so i sent him an email
    let's see

Contact the author, we don't have direct involvement in the development of this game :)

There have been a lot of Churrera games out, this one is quite simple but I find them all very nice to play.

Fun little game. It's very easy, which I like.. 50 lives, and lots of full replenishment.. I challenge anyone not to finish this game on their first go..! ;-)

I've tried to make contact with Monty on my facebook page where he usually visits and posted me the links to his games. In few hours or maybe days we'll know if he noticed of it.

yeah I got to here. How do you not get trapped in there. Jump into the room instead of walking into it?

you can try the new download which does not have this bug though the author is still polishing his games, another thing he's changed that I'm not very fond of is the hero blinking instead of being bounced by the enemies, he asked for some music collaboration in this thread, any musician in favor of legalization fancies something with a reggae sound ?

Is this version finishable? In old version I collected all 20 objects and nothing happened.

The same problem has Bluber game also.

There is a secret chambre where the pig.. :-P
surely you'll have got "the last" cauliflower before the ones behind and know you don't know where is the end, I told the author about this and other problems plus the suggestion of using more life recharges to make the levels more challenging, however he says to be traumatized by Dinamic games
