No more Mario Kart Wii online. Some of the best online gaming fun I've had.

Yep, no more Nintendos for me also.

Don't all on-line console services go this way eventually?

I'd guess that the 360 and the PS3 probably have a couple more years left in them, but it's only in the realms of PC hackery that these things can keep going for much longer than the commercial lifetime of a console.

I think it's funny that on one side, Nintendo is telling everyone that their games are worth the price.

While on the other side they are diluting the value of their games by every one of their management decisions.

Until they figured out whether they just like lying to the public, or they just have incompetent management, their games are going to suffer.

I've bought at least 3 DS/Wii games this year but I guess I'll avoid Nintendo for now.

Never been able to get a decent on-line game of anything anyway. At least stuff like the kart racers have decent off-line and multiplayer game modes, unlike anything EA published lately. And the retro games shop is still available, so I'm not really that bothered.

...did you notice that online services for the original xbox are closed?

...do you know that Games for Windows Live is due to close?

...how about online gaming on PS/2?

    ...Star Wars Galaxies?

    ...Ultima Online?

If we go that way, we wouldn't buy anything from Microsoft, Sony or Nintendo. At least we could buy Sega. Oh wait, they don't make consoles anymore.

It seems that we'll have to stick to our Spectrums.
    I was there, too
An' you know what they said?
Well, some of it was true!

I've never had much luck playing online with the Mario Kart games anyway. They always seem to be full of people pulling out if it looks like they won't finish first! I think it's a stupid decision by Nintendo though as both consoles still have a large active user base!

I wonder if you'll still be able to get online with the Wii games through a Wii U? I'll have to check...

no its better to be offended these days, especially when a company has been providing it free for 7 years. :D

my angle is .. fine... close down the official service if you want... *BUT* leave it open for others to open their own server up, for multi player.

xbox (the original) pretty sure you could play eslewehre multi-player elsewhere and probably still can
