Most Expensive/Collectible Games?
I'm just curious. I have absolutely no idea what games are worth in Speccy collectors' circles. On Youtube there are a million videos telling you all about the NES et cetera but there's nothing with regards to old 8 bit computers.
So, are there any games that are high sought after? Are there any games that go for a small fortune (in relative terms of course)?
Any info appreciated. :)

if two people get in a bidding war for a game, both with deep pockets then it's hard to say.
some of the old sinclair / macmillan games have feteched a couple of hundred each in the past year
indiana jones and the fate of atlantis seems to get a good price
I've never even heard of it. Is it a rare game or am I just ignorant?
I think I saw the Dizzy collection for sale at ?80 odd on eBay. If I remember it was Fog who was selling it so I presume it's a reasonable market price. Kinda surprises me as I thought that collection would be everywhere... I know I own it for the C64 at least... :)
It's not a great game or a bad game, it is perhaps more rare than some.
It was for a 48k Spectrum and came with a ram pack, and the company went bust soon after releasing it due to the development costs and poor sales (it was quite pricey).
I've got a boxed copy, with the interface and tape, but minus the other bits. :/
There's also the fabled Sinclair cassette edition of Tranz Am which, if it even exists, you could probably name your price for.
Other than that, anything that's MIA or distribution denied could be worth a bit.
The game is a bit of a turd, but the cartridge does have a very useful tape head azimuth alignment utility. If things aren't loading, you can pop the cart onto the Speccy and play the supplied alignment tape, and it displays signal quality as you adjust the tape head. I used that far more than the game.
take some of my prices with a massive pinch of salt, they aren't set in stone.. those who moan about the ability to edit etc. obviously don't list a lot using the tools they give you, 10 items every 6 months don't count ;) ... otherwise it might be a tad easier.. some are done to stop certain people mucking up my auctions, I got fed up of that .e.g. if I have 2 items listed the same, they'll bid on the one 10 days later , not the next day.. and that puts a stop to it.. as soon as i started doing that, it worked a treat.
it comes back to what someone is willing to pay , end of. set ya max limit and stick to it , is how I am buying things myself. if I am unwilling to pay (what I feel) is a silly price.. then let em keep it.. I do have a list of things I'd like machine wise and game wise.. but only within reason and not the prices some want.
I do keep quiet what I buy myself as sometimes it's someone here you are bidding against .. although I did see someone chuck a wobbly after a machine I won some time back.. they assumed the winner was using snipe tools etc.. when I only use the browser myself, so felt to correct them.
I collect, so I'm hardly gonna let people inflate prices of things I want.. so again I keep what I'd like mainly to myself. the thing with people posting MIA's on ebay, just helps lurkers get free research.
also Elite (the game) is a good seller
but most of the silly money is reserved for the Sam coup
Nice try. Go for 'Willy Meets the Taxman' next. :)
saving that for april 1st :)

Seems I spelt it wrong :/ ahh well that just makes it rarer.
