BT's software division was originally called Firefly Software before becoming Firebird Software, although they seem to have only released one game as Firefly, plus publishing a few adverts for programmers in June/July 1984, before changing the name.

Which came first - the Firebird name or Tony Rainbird's involvement with the label? I always thought it was a bit of a coincidence...
I don't think so, no... you'd have to cross-reference from the Sinclair Infoseek results. Also most of the budget games like Booty etc are shown under "Silverbird" even though they were originally Firebird releases.
