Can someone explain Hi-Res HRG8 to me?

I've only ever had a plain 1k ZX81 with a 16k ram-pack, this Hi-Res stuff is all new to me.

How much Ram do I need to run one of these awesome Hi-Res demos/games?

Do I need any other hardware?

The original Software Farm Hi-Res games ran on a ZK81 with 16K RAM pack. They weren't perfect bit-mapped screens, but they were good enough for sprite-based games. A lot of other Hi-Res games will work like this.

But for full bit-mapped screens to run some of the latest stuff ( HRG8 ), a hardware modification is needed. I've tried searching and can't find out what it would mean to your setup, but there's a 32K internal RAM upgrade around where it's easily added.
