    Keep a good work, Oleg!

Looks good will have to check it out when I get time.

You didn't say that you have a great website, Oleg.

Everybody should really visit it, especially the part about new games. These screenshots are really great:

    http://www.olegorigin.org/coming_soon.html

(I like Photo Art 18+ section too, but due to different reasons ;) )

Any chance that some of these new games will be completed? It all looks a bit sad, first "coming soon" and then "development is cancelled" for each game which I understand that they'll be never done. Maybe a better phrase would be "on hold" if you don't work on it now but plan to finish it one day?

    Interesting website.
    Is Stella the White Witch...

    sw_adv.jpg

...the same person as this? I can see a similarity.

I second that. I personally would like to see one of the Adventure games, each of them looks promising. Well, most of games look promising, actually :) But as I like adventure and arcade/adventures, and Oleg seems never released any of that genre, so... :)

Bloody hell! This guy is an ideas machine gun!

How near completion are some of the 'cancelled' projects Oleg?

Metal Man is not my usual style of game but it's superb! Your entire catalogue is astounding - great work.

Many thanks! I created the website this week =)

Unfortunately, now I really don't plan to continue development of games for Spectrum.
In recent years I created big base for future development, but it began to take too much time.
On this point there is no other way for me, other than leaving these projects - for real life and for projects in other arts.
    I deeply apologize, people =|

Many of projects, of course, at an initial stage - I couldn't manage to make 250 games in just one life =)
But some of games are frozen in deep development. '4 Elements' is closest to release, BUT....

Nope =) Stella is the same person as in MMR credits, and also you can hear her music (bonus track of MMR OST).
But other games are devoted to my other friends =)
    Amazing release!...
Need a phisycal tape release ;)
Thanks! About Tape release, personally I won't be engaged in it.
But I will be glad if someone wants to make tape release of MMR (in any country).

Did something change in recent days, Oleg?

I have found this post of yours
    http://zx.pk.ru/showpost.php?p=687247&postcount=733

You don't really promise anything there, but there seems to be more hope in it.

    I have found this post...
At that time I really hoped to continue. But not now. It it is almost impossible - to live two lives at the same time. In reality I have absolutely other projects which haven't been associated with the Spectrum. Considering quantity of a developed material, some reason was necessary to me to stop future development. But I really made it :(

I somehow understand you. At some moment of your life you have less and less time for your hobbies. Personally I have several half done projects too that I don't know if I ever finish :(

If at some moment anything changes and you'd like to return to some Spectrum coding fun, don't think twice. It's not like breaking up with a woman, you can always come back :)
  • edited April 2014
That's pretty spot on. As a graphics man, as much as I love doing stuff for/on it, it's also quite niche. You want as many people as possible to see and hopefully appreciate what you do and that's also the pull to do other things. It's a big factor for me, that's for sure. The draw of doing art/pixel art for other games and projects where 48/128K and graphic attributes limitations as well as the chance to also make some money doing something you love as well as growing yourself....I'm afraid there's no contest.

    Anyway, thanks for your support!
Yes, after I left Spectrum in the late 90s, I couldn't think that I will return. Probably, sometime it happens again... =) But I don't promise.

I love this game. Much better than the most movie projects from Ocean Software :-).

    Oleg,

I have just seen your work, WOW! You have so much cool stuff. You cancelled so many cool looking games. Do you have any that could be released as Demo's??? This stuff is far too cool sitting around on your computer at home.

    thanks!
unfortunately, in all projects the game logic isn't completed (though in some of them the graphic engine and considerable part of graphics is ready). therefore they not playable, and I won't show a demo. the only completed game - Rikki-Tikki-Tavi, but it didn't pass my 'own quality control'. I didn't think up how to make it more playable and how to correct some defects of engine, and also decided to cancel release...
    probably, sometime... :(

    Hi Oleg,

great project you have got there, it's obvious you spent a lot of time and effort in it. Reminds me of late Dinamic titles like Astro Marine Corps. Well done.

I also established a contact to you through my Flickr page - you are welcome to visit it anytime you want; I am now publishing the photos from my recent trip to Argentina.

I see you are planning a Spanish translation of MMR. Should you think about an Italian version, I could do the job.

Of course, such games like AMC, Savage, Robocop (and more) inspired me =)
I with pleasure watch your travel photos. It is really beautiful! =)

I will make the Italian version with pleasure. Please, give me your e-mail in the private message, I'll send English texts.
