Fat characters in ZX Spectrum games
Hi all,
I'm trying to think of some games that had heroes who were quite fat. Now there are some obvious ones, like Monty Mole, Wally Week, Henhouse Harry and I think Miner Willy has a bit of a belly on him.
Can you suggest any properly famous characters who had fat sprites? I was under the impression that one of the sports games (like Daley Thompson's Decathlon) had a fat main character. But Decathlon definitely isn't it.
I'm blogging about my weight loss and I wanted to give some examples of how video game heroes have changed over the years. And fat Daley seemed funny (not so funny now I know I imagined it)

I'm pretty sure now that it was Batman that I was thinking of as an unusually proportioned hero!

I was playing Chubby Gristle today, and just noticed this thread! I must have been picking up fat Speccy character vibes psychically or something...
You might be thinking of Olympimania. All of the Automata Pi-Man games feature a fat character, because the Pi-Man was fat - or at least grotesquely bloated. So that's also at least Pi-Balled, Pi-Eyed and Pi-in-'ere'. Then there's The Addams Family (Uncle Fester), Asterix and the Magic Cauldron (Obelix), Athena (on the chubby side), all the Zenobi Balrog adventures, the three Danger Mouse games (Penfold), Benny Hill's Madcap Chase!, Bounty Bob Strikes Back, Bride of Frankenstein, the Count Duckula games (Nanny), the Garfield games, Ghostbusters (the Marshmallow Man), Gnome Ranger & Ingrid's Back!
